FIMA Correspondence Management

GOH supported the assessment of the internal controls related to FIMA and NFIP correspondence management, which is a critical business function throughout FIMA.

The Federal Insurance and Mitigation Administration (FIMA) administers the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and is responsible for implementing internal controls processes and tools to support effective business management operations, including correspondence management. The overall objective of this requirement is to improve overall internal controls over the FIMA and NFIP correspondence management and operations.

GOH supported the assessment of the internal controls related to FIMA and NFIP correspondence management, which is a critical business function throughout FIMA. This internal control assessment identified internal control weaknesses and tool opportunities for remediation.

GOH also helped develop a FIMA-wide correspondence management and internal controls process with supporting SharePoint tool that included forms, workflows, views, and reports to enhance FIMA management oversight capabilities.

Senior Corps Focus Groups

GOH executed a series of Senior Corps Focus Groups to collect information from Senior Corps program participants and leaders regarding performance measures, recruitment, cost reimbursement, expanding partnerships, and innovation.

The Office of Senior Corps provide funds to local and national organizations and agencies committed to using national service to address critical community needs across CNCS’s six focus areas; education, healthy futures, environmental stewardship, economic opportunity, disaster services, and veterans and military families.  Senior Corps taps the skills, talents and experience of more than 300,000 Americans age 55 and over to meet a wide range of community challenges through three programs: the Foster Grandparent Program (FGP), the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), and the Senior Companion Program (SCP). GOH provided logistical, facilitation, and technical writing support for the focus groups and completed a thematic analysis of the conversations. GOH executed a series of Senior Corps Focus Groups to collect information from Senior Corps program participants and leaders regarding performance measures, recruitment, cost reimbursement, expanding partnerships, and innovation. GOH facilitated dialogue and prepared a thematic analysis that CNCS is now using to help guide program and policy improvements and changes.
