GOH is looking for a Meeting/Event Planner with experience managing government meetings with 50-200 participants who is organized, detailed oriented, and a self-motivated leader. You will support the grants management team members and perform data entry, word processing, spreadsheet development, document reproduction, and handle preparation and tracking of shipments. You must have experience creating floorplans, room assignments, and managing food and beverage plans; a familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, knowledge of technical equipment and the ability to assess audio/visual needs.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree and/or Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) preferred but not required
Experience: 3-5 years of meeting planning experience
Location: Frederick, MD
Essential Functions: Plan and manage government meetings from concept to post-event; provide logistics planning and travel guidance for peer review meetings; negotiate vendor agreements to ensure low cost and high-quality services; provide venue research and procurement based on customer program requirements; work closely with project team and vendors to ensure deliverables are met and build favorable relations for all stakeholders; manage communication with operational and technical teams to ensure meeting details and logistics align with customer needs; provide on-site support which may require overnight travel for 3-6 days up to 10 times per year; identify and formulate solutions for any venue and customer challenges; work with project managers to ensure customer needs are met while maximizing revenue; manage data entry, database analysis, and reporting.

- Comfortable working in a high-tempo, quick turnaround team setting
- Ability to sort/organize document review packets
- Data entry (MS Office Suite – Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word proficiency)
